Lower Stondon Surgery

Are you worried about a sudden change in your health

People should seek medical care when they need it and not be put off by the coronavirus epidemic, is the message from the Surgery in Stondon and supported by NHS England Medical Director, Prof Powis.

The message highlights the need for you to contact the surgery with the following symptoms including:-

  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Difficulty swallowing food
  • Indigestion not responding to antacids
  • Changes in bowel habits particular presence of blood in poo
  • Blood in urine
  • Breast lumps or moles that have changed in appearance
  • Symptoms of chest pain or breathlessness

Anyone who delays seeking treatment could be putting their long-term health at risk, as well as their life. We do NOT want to alarm you, just concerned that the current situation is potentially stopping you from contacting us.

Please contact the surgery and ask for a telephone appointment. Your request will be responded to by a GP whom will assess your symptoms over the phone. If necessary, patients will be seen on a face to face basis and appropriate investigations and referrals made.

We are putting the NHS first by trying to offer some initial screening, even if that is by phone.
